Who would benefit from this course?

The refresher course is ideal for anyone who has not driven a car for a while, for example:

• a student who passed their test before university, but hasn't driven a car whilst doing their degree
• a recently bereaved person whose partner used to be the principal driver
• a driver who doesn't enjoy motorway or night driving
• a driver who does not feel confident driving in difficult weather conditions
• a driver who has had an accident and needs to regain their confidence
• a driver who has moved to a new area where driving is more challenging

With the refresher course our instructor Pat will help you to feel in complete control behind the wheel. With over 40 years driving experience (including long distance truck driving and coach driving), there isn't a single scenario that Pat hasn't had to deal with, and with his calm and gentle manner he will make you into the driver that you have always wanted to be.

The course has the backing of the Government's Driving Standards Agency (DSA) and a number of insurance companies. With Pat's tutition you will gain experience in different aspects of driving ensuring that you become a positive driver.

Who might benefit from this course?

Any new driver who has recently passed their test and wants to improve their driving skills. Although Pat's Motoring School is based in Oxford the experience that you gain from this course is transferable to anywhere you drive.

What does Pass Plus include?

The Pass Plus course is divided into 6 modules covering:

• motorway driving
• all weather driving
• night driving
• dual carriageway driving
• town driving
• rural driving

You will be encouraged to develop a positive attitude, taking responsibility for your own actions, and demonstrating care and consideration for others on the road.

The course will also help you to improve your observation and assessment skills, teaching you to make clearer decisions and be more confident in taking the correct actions.

Each module is assessed (there's no test!) so that you know how well you are progressing and the course must be completed within 12 months of passing your initial driving test. 

The majority of the course involves motorway tuition and most insurance companies will offer you a reduction on your premium upon completion of the course. Cost - £270.
